Diane von Furstenberg Wants to Know About Women You Love

Designer (and godsend — she’s the inventor of the wrap dress) Diane von Furstenberg has launched a campaign in honor of International Women’s Day (which took place on March 8 — sorry I missed it). She has partnered with Vital Voices Global Partnership for “Women Can,” which aims to inspire female leaders in developing countries.

DVF has pledged to donate ten percent of this week’s sales in her stores and on her website to Vital Voices, but that’s not all.

Through April 19, she is also running the Women You Love contest. She wants you to share your love by submitting “an inspirational story about a fabulous, strong, intelligent woman who has nurtured or inspired you.” Think about it — who has mentored you, encouraged you, and helped you become the amazing person you are today?

Send in her picture and a detailed story about how she’s impacted your life, or write a blog about it (again, with pictures). The winner will receive a trip for two to NYC for a $5000 shopping spree at Diane von Furstenberg’s flagship NYC store as well as two tickets to DVF’s Spring 2009 fashion show.
